* One Of Those Days *

July 22nd, 2010 at 9:38 am

TildyBear3

It has been one of those days. You know the ones – where most everything seems to go wrong. Yesterday started out well and then ended not as well. I am trying to think of it as an opportunity for growth (in patience and endurance).

My husband seems to always be away when there are rough days. He doesn’t time it that way (or so he says!); that it is just how it works out. He left early yesterday for meetings in Maryland and will return home late tonight. I am counting the hours.

Little Miss Matilda Bear is not feeling well. She has some sort of stomach bug and has needed close attending to. Poor little dear. She is not running a temperature. She ate well and drank her water yesterday. She did not sleep well at all (nor did I). I decided to sleep in the downstairs bedroom so I could take her outside more quickly if needed. It was a wise decision but both she and I are exhausted today.

I have decided to give her only rice with a bit of boiled chicken later today. From everything I’ve read, it is best to let their stomach rest for 12 – 24 hours. The chicken and rice should be easy on her tummy.

I had hopes of posting my summer giveaway today but I believe it will have to wait until tomorrow. Blessings to you.

Oh, I’m so sorry Little Miss Matilda Bear is not feeling well. Could she have picked up something from her ‘classmates’? Hoping she is well soon, and that you both will get some rest tonight!
    Blessings!

Thank you, Raeann. I don’t know where she picked the bug up or who from. She sniffed the other two dogs briefly but didn’t share a water dish or anything.

I’m sorry to hear about Little Miss Matilda Bear…I hope she feels better soon. It’s so hard to figure out how they get sick.

    Hi Gina,

I hope your week gets better – I can relate to “those days”. Poor little Matilda Bear, I hope she starts feeling better soon – my Lab has a very sensitive tummy – doesn’t take much to make him sick . . . hope you both feel better soon.

    Gentle hugs,
    Barb

    Hi Gina,
Sorry for little Matilda Bear! The heat bothers them, too, I think. Our lab also had a tummy problem, and has been eating grass so I have to follow her around. The vet thinks she is allergic to whatever she is eating in the garden This has been a crazy allergy year for people and animals alike!

Thank you ladies! She is doing a bit better. I’m beginning to think that the heat is what is bothering her. I’m trying to keep her cool during this heat wave.
